Routing & CVV Number

You've got our numbers. Here's why you need them.

Your Berskshire Bank credit and debit cards contain more than just your account number. They have a three-digit Card Verification Value (CVV) number that you'll sometimes need to provide to a merchant when making a transaction. Berkshire Bank has also been assigned a routing number that you'll need when you're trying to direct payments of many types into and out of your account.

Routing Numbers

• When you're moving money into or out of your Berkshire Bank checking account electronically, you will often be asked to provide your routing number. For instance, you'll need the number to set up direct deposit or to arrange to automatically pay your utility bills.
• Routing numbers are also known as banking routing numbers, routing transit numbers, RTNs, ABA numbers, and SWIFT codes.
• Berkshire Bank's routing number is 211871691

CVV Number

• Three-digit number on Visa, Mastercard and Discover branded credit and debit cards. On American Express credit or debit cards, it's four digits.
• Your CVV number is located on the back of Visa, Mastercard and Discover cards, just above your signature. It's on the front of American Express cards, just above the card account number.(See images below for illustratons.)
• Providing your CVV number during an online or telephone purchase proves to the merchant that you actually have the physical credit or debit card, which helps to reduce fraud.
• CVV numbers are not your card's secret PIN (Personal Identification Number). You should never enter your PIN number when asked to provide your CVV.
• CVV numbers may also be known as CSC numbers (Card Security Code) or CVV2 numbers.
