ALBANY, NY - Berkshire Bank is proud to announce that Erin Boggan, Senior Vice President of CRA and Fair Lending, has been selected for a Resourceful Women’s Award from YWCA of the Greater Capital Region. The award was presented to Boggan at the 2018 Resourceful Women’s Luncheon, where she was honored along with 12 other female community leaders and a young girl on a mission. Nathaalie Carey, Deputy Commissioner for Administration and CFO at New York State Department of Labor was named the 2018 Resourceful Woman of the Year. The award recognizes and honors women whose community and professional pursuits advance the empowerment of women and girls.
Boggan was selected for her dedication to supporting the growth and development of others.
“In her role at Berkshire Bank, Erin works to ensure that financial products and services are accessible to low-income individuals and families,” said Deborah Stephenson, Executive Vice President of Compliance. “Erin has always been a proponent of financial empowerment, working tirelessly to bring people together in the areas of community development, social justice, and in the effort to ensure that one’s zip code does not define one’s future.”
Boggan has worked at Berkshire Bank for over five years. Prior to joining Berkshire Bank she was the Vice President of Community Reinvestment at Citizens Bank. Before working in the field of banking, Boggan utilized her master’s degree in Social Welfare to increase financial empowerment for low and moderate income workers by leading the United Way of the Greater Capital Region in their Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA). Boggan grew the VITA program immensely, from just a handful of sites in 2005 to over hundreds of sites helping thousands of hard working individuals save annually on paid preparation fees. Boggan remains a dedicated volunteer and is about to enter her 13th year of service for this program.
