Berkshire Bank's Nicholl receives 2016 Follow the Leader Award

PITTSFIELD, MA – April 19, 2016 - Berkshire Bank, America’s Most Exciting Bank®, is excited to announce that Leadership Mohawk Valley, LMV, has presented Matthew Nicholl, VP, Business Banking Officer with the 2016 Follow the Leader Award. 

Nicholl is recognized as a leader because of his significant contributions to the Central New York community. He participates through XTEAM, Berkshire Bank’s Employee Volunteer Service, through United Way of Mohawk Valley and Greater Utica as part of the marketing team, in Utica’s Relay for Life and is responsible for Berkshire Bank’s sponsorship of Stuff the Bus.

Within his position at Berkshire Bank as a Business Officer, Nicholl is responsible for acquiring and maintaining business relationships within the Mohawk Valley, assists these businesses in growing and establishing themselves within the community and he contributed significantly to Berkshire Bank’s success in achieving Top SBA Lender in 2015.

Nicholl strives to be a role model for his children and attempts to demonstrate this in his community involvement. Sean Morelle, Matt’s LMV classmate, in discussing this sentiment in Nicholl, stated that “He wants to lead by example and show them that you just can’t talk about being somebody in the community, you have to do something to help your community.”
